For 15 years, GHP Associates was located in a mill building at 36 Maple Avenue in Seekonk, MA.  On the evening of January 28, 2009, the roof on a part of the building located a city block away from our shop became overloaded with heavy, wet snow, and collapsed into an empty warehouse area.  Within minutes, our lives had changed!

On the morning of January 29th, the Seekonk Building Inspector declared the entire structure at 36 Maple Ave to be unsafe, and all utilities were cut off.  We were now in a situation where we had no electricity, gas, water, fire sprinklers, alarm system, heat or telephone.  Not only were we unable to work, but everything the business owned was in a very unsafe environment.  We needed to act fast in order to protect our equipment, the property of our customers, and the future of our business.

Over the next two weeks, we began an accelerated program of clearing out the shop, and putting everything in storage pods that were place in the parking lot of the mill.  Then came the task of finding a place to move the business to.

We had decided to join forces with two other tenants in our building, National Environmental Company and Spencer Organ Company, who were, of course, in the same condition we were.  Between all of us, we quickly found what proved to be an absolutely perfect location for us!

The Checon Building on Dunham Street in Attleboro had all the things we needed; only a ten minute drive from our former location, plenty of square footage, brand new roofs, plenty of electric power, a well maintained infrastructure, and an owner who was very happy to have a couple of well established businesses move into his property.  It was, as the saying goes, a “match made in heaven!”

We expect to be up and running by the end of April, 2009.  The new layout will vastly improve our efficiency!  Please feel free to drop around and visit us if you’re in the Attleboro area!
